There are moments in life when things feel uncertain, when you’re standing at the edge of something new, or maybe something ending and all you want is one steady hand to hold on to. That’s where Promise Me was born.
I wrote this song in a time of reflection, thinking about the people we love the most, and how sometimes, life tests that love. It’s easy to get lost, to doubt, to feel the pull of darkness or fear. But love, real love, is what pulls you back. And sometimes, all we need is a promise. Not perfection. Not answers. Just a promise that we won’t face it all alone.
The lyrics are personal. The line “Please hear my voice inside your head…” came from a place of wanting to be that guiding voice for someone reminding them of their strength when they forget it, reminding them that no matter how far they wander, they’re still loved.
It’s also a song about fearlessness. About letting go of pride, ego, or whatever else holds us back from telling the truth. The truth is, I’d rather go through hell with you than be in heaven without you. And I think a lot of people out there feel that too, even if they don’t always say it.
So if you’re listening to Promise Me, I hope it gives you a moment to breathe. To remember that love doesn’t have to be loud to be strong. Sometimes, it’s just a whisper saying, “I’m still here. I’ve got you. Just promise me… you won’t let go.”
Thank you for listening.
